Bondo, Siaya County, Kenya (November 26, 2024) – JOOUST recently hosted a successful dissemination event for the CHAIN Project, attracting over 100 participants, including students and staff. The event, led by Dr. Bernd Müller from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), provided a comprehensive update on the project’s progress and fostered valuable stakeholder interaction.
A key highlight of the event was the announcement of a significant milestone: the completion of the curriculum development for the innovative “Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Commodities Value Chain Management.” This groundbreaking program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the complex challenges and opportunities within agricultural value chains.
The developed curriculum has now cleared all university requirements and procedures and has been submitted to the Commission for University Education (CUE) for accreditation. The target is to secure accreditation by the end of 2024, allowing JOOUST to advertise the program in February 2025 and commence the inaugural intake in May 2025.
The CHAIN Project continues to be at the forefront of agricultural education and research. Through collaboration, innovation, and a focus on practical solutions, JOOUST aims to empower the next generation of agricultural leaders and drive positive change within the sector.
