From the 5th to 7th May 2025, JOOUST proudly hosted the Local Kickoff and Technical Planning Workshop for the HORIZON-STREAMING Project, funded by the Horizon Europe Programme. The project—Sustainable Trade Regimes with Europe and Africa through Mapping Innovation, New Technology, and Growth Mindset—aims to revolutionize food trade systems through policy, technology, and inclusive innovation.

Led by Prof. Christopher Gor and a dedicated team, the workshop brought together University Management, Technical leads, and Partners to align strategies for implementation. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Emily Akuno, emphasized professionalism and sustainability, while work package leaders unpacked transformative roles in digital agriculture, blockchain traceability, and trade policy modeling.

Participants collaboratively developed a Monitoring framework, Non Tarriff Measures identification tools, and a consolidated work plan. Plans for innovation hubs and student engagement were also tabled.

The workshop concluded with the submission of key deliverables, setting a strong foundation for JOOUST’s role in this global consortium.

Stay tuned as STREAMING transforms Africa-Europe trade through smart, sustainable solutions—powered by innovation, policy, and people.
